About Annette PonTell
TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY TO REAL ESTATE. WHY DID YOU BECOME A REAL ESTATE AGENT?
I have spent most of my career as an ESL/EFL teacher but going into real estate has always been in the back of my mind. Much of my teaching involved English for business and job skills performance; in turn, I developed some business savvy that I would like to put into action while helping others realize their dreams of homeownership or property investment.
IF YOU ARE NEW TO REAL ESTATE, DOES ANYTHING FROM YOUR PREVIOUS JOB HELP YOU AS AN AGENT?
Wearing various hats as a teacher, curriculum developer, and program coordinator, along with working with young adults from diverse backgrounds and cultures, I enhanced my management, communication, organizational and social skills. I am an active listener and strive to really hear and understand people’s needs and desires.
WHAT ARE THREE WORDS YOUR CLIENTS WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE YOU?
Trustworthy. Attentive. Supportive.
WHAT MOST EXCITES YOU ABOUT YOUR WORK?
I am most fulfilled when I see others achieve their dreams and goals. Whether it’s developing job skills, learning a second language, or becoming a homeowner, I love to participate in the process and see it happen!
WHO INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
My two sons inspire me! They are everything I hope to be: smart, funny, talented, unique, compassionate, worldly, and kind.
WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
When I am not working you can find me hanging out at home with my family, friends, and pets (two dogs and a bird). Home is my refuge and oasis. I also love hiking, skiing, reading, traveling, and hearing live music.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MONTH OF THE YEAR AND WHY?
September because fall is my favorite season and because I love the song by Earth, Wind & Fire.
WHAT IS THE STRANGEST ACTIVITY ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?
Maybe they aren’t strange, but a few of my bucket list activities are skiing in Chile, spending a week on a dude ranch, and riding a bike around Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan.
WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK?
English, Spanish and Portuguese.
