About Michael Blume

TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY TO REAL ESTATE.

From the moment I purchased my first home, I developed a fascination with Real Estate. Having experienced the process of homeownership firsthand, as well as undertaking several renovation projects, my passion for the industry grew. My exposure to the home improvement industry started from a young age through my father’s HVAC business, which also equipped me with a wealth of knowledge and skills. Spending countless hours on residential construction sites, I gained valuable insight into the workings of the field. After medically retiring from my previous career in law enforcement, I began exploring new career options. It was during this time that I realized my desire to once again serve and help people, albeit in a different capacity. I was drawn to the real estate profession as it allows me to merge my skills and knowledge from years of government service and residential construction into a singular career. As a realtor, I am excited to continue serving individuals and families as they embark on their own journeys in the world of real estate.

DOES ANYTHING FROM YOUR PREVIOUS JOB HELP YOU AS AN AGENT?

My previous career was completely people oriented. Every day I relied on my skill and ability to have clear and concise communication with people who were often in extremely stressful situations. I understand the importance of following up and keeping in contact with those who are counting on me to provide information and results. Being a Realtor, these skills can be applied to offer my clients the utmost attention, clear understanding, transparency and communication.

WHAT ARE THREE WORDS YOUR CLIENTS WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE YOU?

Professional, responsive, genuine.

WHERE HAVE YOU LIVED? AND WHERE DO YOU LIVE NOW? WHERE DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL/COLLEGE AND WHAT DID YOU STUDY? DO YOU SPEAK/READ/WRITE A SECONDARY LANGUAGE?

I am actually fifth generation born in San Francisco. I was raised in Pacifica and spent my years growing up on the coast. I currently live in north San Mateo County. When I was in the military, I lived in different parts of the United States, Korea and four years living in Sagamihara, Japan. My Japanese is very rusty but I can still read Korean. I attended Skyline College and have an Associates in Science, Administration of Justice degree.

WHERE CAN WE FIND YOU WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?

When not working, you can find me doing my chauffeur duties for my children. Driving them to golf, ballet, soccer, swimming, gymnastics and anything
else they think is cool. In the rare event I have time to myself I enjoy scuba diving in Monterey and Trout fishing in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I also
have an interest in sailing and anything nautical.

WHAT BAY AREA CITY WOULD YOU LIKE TO LIVE IN AND WHY?

One of my favorite cities is San Mateo. It’s a city that is centrally located on the peninsula, has a huge variety of dining and shopping and the weather is
usually warm.

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR DREAM VACATIONS?

Great White Shark diving on a live aboard dive boat off Guadalupe Island, Mexico.

WHAT IS YOUR PET PEEVE?

My pet peeve is a lack of communication, I value clear and effective communication in all aspects of my life. Whether it’s personal or professional
relationships, I believe that being able to communicate openly and honestly is essential for building trust and avoiding misunderstandings. It can be
frustrating for me when others don’t prioritize communication or fail to respond in a timely manner. However, I understand that everyone has different
communication styles and preferences.
